Homecoming - The Journey In Pictures

As some of you are aware. I am home. The first day was just too busy to get online with the numerous backlogged errands to run. With Faith, so excited to see me, there is hardly enough quiet time to sit down and blog stuff.

Hence the apologies for posting this even when I am home 2 days already.

I guess it's the euphoria of seeing a long lost friend returning , the calls never stopped ringing for the first day and a half. Ahh... at last, some time to myself and I lugged my laptop out of the house.

But where? Being the tourist that I am now, I don't really know where would be a good place to have a  laptop without the establishment chasing you out with a broom. Next, there is also the question of free wifi. McDonald's? Finally decided to settle down at NYDC at Holland Village but I am sure the parking coupons will be costing me an arm and a leg.

Note to self: Do not under estimate the volume of the elephancino with respect to your bladder size. Cross and Crunch. Cross and Crunch.

Enough of talk already. Let's go with the slide show!

It's a wet day today and I was lucky to find an empty highway to travel on. If one car were to suay suay skidded off, causing an accident (I see about 1 on average, each day), I can forget about going home liao and turn around, back to the office, for I will not make to the ferry terminal on time.

Fortunately, Lady Luck and the WeatherMan both smiled on me that day and it was a smooth journey.

No luck with the Check-in Agent though as I failed in my attempt to sweet-talk her into scoring an upgrade to Business Class. Bah Humbug! Better luck next time.

Still, it is my favourite airline where the people from front-line to back-room, all treat me pretty well. That, in contrast to a certain airline who treats you depending on your skin colour, despite being the BESTEST airline in the world.... Who ah? Who ah?

That's my ride over there, the Boeing 772. Personally, I perfer the Airbuses over Boeings anytime, with the exception of the 744s and 742s where the upper deck houses my most sought-after peace and quiet on long-haul flights.

I kinda felt bad putting this picture up but the socks are just too hard for me to resist. I must say I am getting quite good at taking snaps with stealth or the shoe would be flying in my direction and fast! Duck!

And no. The legs do not belong to Michael Jackson. He is in California undergoing the trial, remember?

"Sir, would you like chicken or beef?"

My answer is always the same. No.

I don't eat on my home-bound flight. I mean let's think about it. I land at 6pm, why would I want to spoil my appetite with airline food? No offence to Cathay Pacific, for their food is actually quite yummy but face it, the hawker fare back home will always be better-er.

I believe many others on my flight thinks that same as I do but I supposed they go ahead and eat due to sheer boredom.

This is my poison of choice. Barcardi & Tonic. It is not your usual G&T or Rum&Coke. It's Barcardi and Tonic. Very nice drink but not too heavy to the extend of leaving the plane in handcuffs. ~LOL.

Straight to makan upon landing as my buds took me to Charlie's Corner at Changi Village. Now tell me, can the lowly coney dog beat any First Class cabin cuisine on any airline. I'd say it with a resounding, "HELL, YEAH!"

One of my favourite places on the island. I do miss the old days when they had little table and chairs (stolen from nearby kindergarten?) and a huge flashlight to blind you into submission i.e. come get your own food from the counter.

I used to get a big kick bringing my ang moh friends to Charlie's and see them sit in the tiny chairs with the knees touching their ears. Muahahaha......

And finally to see my little princess with her new toy that I brought back. As I stepped into the door, she hollered my name instead of the usual "Daddy" or "Papa". Kinda reminded me of The Simpsons where Bart never call his old man "Dad". For some strange reason Bart finds saying "David Hasselhoff" easier than "Dad", which is why Homer is always throttling Bart. D'OH!

Coming home is like a pirate returning with the booty as the little princess is all excitied with the treasure chest that I lugged in aka my luggage, which is about right since there is really nothing in there except for her toys and some prezzies for my friends. *winks to Sheena, Ed, Deek, Les*

Daddy's home.
