Here's a simple diagram to show where Gabriel and I stand in the family tree dating back to the founding of the Ancestral Temple. It appears to be a gap between me and the youngest of the tree. It kinda gave us an insight as to the different cultures in different places, although we are from the same family. My guess for the gap is perhaps folks in Ch1na marry and have kids at a much younger age than the folks in my line since the migration to Ta1wan?
So technically, there is a young boy (whom I heard was born in Hong Kong) who has to address me as his Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grand-Uncle. Aiyoh....

This plaque is located on the left of the temple and on it is the inscription of the pioneer ancestor's words to us, descendants. All I can say is damn cheem siah..... this is going to take me quite a bit of time to decipher it. Any "better-player" Ch1nese students out there able to lend me a hand here?
As you can see, my pioneer ancestor is quite the scholar here and I guess a scholar back then is definitely regarded more highly then the "scholars" of today that we have in Singapore. Quite sad, hor?

Just a few candid shots that I took along the way. They were glad to have one of their own return home after so many years away. Firecrackers where blasting away machiam like it was Chinese New Year. My ears were ringing throughout the day. Nice Ah Pek here had to clean up the bits of firecrackers for us. Oops.
For those who have been following since Part 1, we were in the middle of a hurricane and the front porch of the temple got all slushy and muddy to the extend where we found our van sinking into the mud.

BUT before you guys start to point finger and ask why I am not there helping to push. My response is simple.

p.s. Actually, I suggested ditching the van there and take another car until the weather dries out. But stubborn as the old folks are, they insisted on getting the van out. So ok lor. Go ahead lor. I take picture ok? :P

hmmmm....i have a prob. I've been updating myself daily to ur blog, but almost always not see any changes until a few days later. meaning when everyone else can see ur entries everyday, I only saw all these (3 entries) today! how come ah? 4. JayWalk left...
