Ngee Ann City Basement 2 - 27 Oct 2008
The above picture was taken on 27 Oct 2008 when I just returned to Singapore. I had already known that the world is heading towards an economic meltdown and I took this picture as I was quite surprised to see my fellow Singaporeans obviously still oblivious to the dire situation.
The whole place was buzzing with people at a time where it was just an ordinary day i.e. people weren't buying ahead of the festive period when this particular picture was taken.

Fast forward a few months and we were days prior to the Chinese New Year and it was a shocking contrast to what I've witnessed a mere few months ago.
Ironically, the crowded was so sparse despite the fact that Chinese New Year season is one of the craziest retail period.
We are in for a bad landing. So buckle up and assume emergency landing position.

we can only hope that the money given out to the Americans will not be keep in the piggy bank, because Obama promises tax cut. and it only encourages the Americans to save, instead of spending. Tuesday, 17 February 2009 12:37 am ::
Gary: The way I see it, people will take the money and save as no one is really THAT confident that Obama's stimulus package will definitely work. As such, everyone would have to be the naive one to "kena sabo-ed" in the event that the package don't pan out as planned.
