Voice Blog - Babysitting The JailBait Again

I wasn't planning on going to Timbre last night as I have a dinner appointment and another chillout session at Emerald Hill side.
Still I thought I needed to get to Timbre to see good bro AhTiong73, even if it means being there for just an hour or something. Well, what can I say but I got more than I bargained for as Gary and Ruok were there too when I arrived together with MsVindicta.

Yes, for some strange reason, I was babysitting the jailbait again. Hahaha.

Then someone suggested why not do another voice blog, presumably having listened to the earlier one just published earlier that day? So off we headed to the carpark to get away from the band who were playing during that time.

MsVindicta and I headed for Emerald Hill after the recording only to come back to Timbre later and we found even more people! From Posh to Wcwtay to EdEddEddy to TehSiSiuDai to Vandalin to the phew pheet Fitti and Sheree.

It was a good night out.

p.s. Eh Vandalin, we were just talking kok in the voice blog hor. Don't keel us!

Voice Blog - MsVindicta

Has been out the whole of today which robbed me of the time at the laptop to come up with today's entry.

Just when I was back home and ready to settle down for the evening to write something, I was called out by MsVindicta for dinner/coffee.

Boyfriend ditched her again. Haiz.....

So boh bian lor, last minute social escort to rescue the lonely damsel lor.
Then it dawned on me that hey, I can do a voice blog while I am out. And what better to do it with a friend just for the fun of it.

It's been quite a while since I did a voice blog and I have been meaning to do a group voice blog for the longest time.

Problem was that whenever I was back, either I procrastinated or the environment just wasn't conducive to do coz first you need to have a quiet enough environment or otherwise the noisy ambience background would have ruined the recording and you need a bit of privacy so as to avoid strange eyes looking which could make the recording really awkward.

So anyway, here it is after much hesitation by MsVindicta who was obviously shy and inexperienced with this.
Hence the very short voice blog. Still, it's a good start nevertheless.

Stay tuned for more of the voice blogs in days to come.
Enjoy.

32. JayWalk left...

Gary: Well, the way I see it, this thing concerns the well being of Singapore and hence it concerns me.

Because I care and I do not like what I see, I speak out about my displeasure, even if it would fall on Gahmen's death ears. I just need to get this out of my system.

But voicing out here, it could echo the sentiments of other people who think alike and resonate to a higher level. On the flip side, it may attract opposing views that perhaps could offer a new insight to the matter. Perhaps, I was wrong to begin with and some kind soul could take the trouble to show me what is right instead. For all you know, the Gahmen was right all along but for now, I am not happy with what lies ahead of me.

Anna: How the heck did you get dragged into this?

Chocolate: Eh.... you machiam self-appointed Minister of Manpower is it?

Gary: Your comment is so important that I felt that I need to address you individually.
I think you misunderstood me on certain areas and I would like to take this opportunity to clear the air a little bit.

Perhaps it was my fault if you are under the impression that I am against the Gahmen policies like raising prices and such.

Let me go on record that I think that it is justifiable to raise transport fares. Fuel prices have gone from from USD 35 a barrel a decade ago to breaching USD 70 a barrel in recent weeks. Now think about this, how much did you costs of living change as a result?

I am not against Gahmen policies. I think most, if not all, are justifiable. What pissed me off is the way, the Gahmen handles the people when introducing these policies.

Ok so mrbrown make noise about rising prices like electricity, kopi and transportation. He, like many other Singaporeans, is simply raising his hand to the Gahmen and asking why like that? What Gahmen could have done would be to explain to mrbrown and many other Singaporeans like him so as to make them understand the intentions of the new policies and the benefits that it would bring to the people.

This scenario sounds familiar? You are in school and you raised your hand to ask your teacher something. The question may appear very stupid and as a result you get chided by the teacher for wasting her time. Worse, you get punished for being a trouble-maker. The truth of that matter may be the fact that you seriously don't understand certain aspect of what the teacher was saying. Had you known the topic at hand a little better, you would be able to ask a "better" question? Have you not ever been through a situation where you were so confused that you don't even know what question to ask, let alone formulate a question that wasn't deemed "stupid"?

This my dear Gary, is the point I am driving at.

I am not against Gahmen policies. I am however, annoyed by the condescending manner in which we, the people of Singapore, are being treated by our Gahmen. The very Gahmen that we elect to serve us.

Dr Lee Boon Yang mentioned in a recent response (will blog about this next week) that "the Gahmen is "duty bound" to set the record straight". Let me ask you this, it is almost 2 weeks since mrbrown published the "offending" article. What has the Gahmen done thus far? Do you see any attempts at setting the "record straight"? Coming to 14 days already. Still nothing on any of the media. Gahmen very busy is it? All I have seen is mrbrown being booted out of his column.

You tell me, if I am wrong to be disappointed with the Gahmen in this aspect.

KHW: Ahh... looks like your iTunes friend quite Beng hor? A bit like me. kekekekekeke......

Gary: The definition of "confuse" over here, refers to one being unclear because the Gahmen did a lousy job explaining the introduction of policies and going ahead to implement it.

Unlike HK, where their Gahmen make the effort to make TVCs and take out print ads to create awareness and educating the public, in language that is easily understood even by the less educated Ah Sooks and Ah Pors on the street. What has our Gahmen done besides making people who raised questions go away?

It's been 12 days since the Brown incident. As long as this comment thread continues, I shall keep counting.

As for Brown's jibe about pay for taking lift with microchip in the head, that is just him talking cock lah. At first glance, we know it is just a joke, but still, I would agree with you that mrbrown may be wrong here to assume that everybody recognised it as a cock joke.

There ARE people who would take it for real, unfortunately.

Come to think of it, I won't totally dismissed the part about the chip in the head. Research has been ongoing for years with regards to implanting chip in the human body and the 2 best places for the microchip is the right hand and the forehead.

Incidentally, there is also mention of this in the book of Revelations in the New Testament (Bible). Coincidence or prophecy? You decide.

Voice Blog - I Am Singaporean

Transcript:

I was born in Singapore in 1971 but I was not a Singapore citizen, on account of the fact that both my parents were foreigners at that time. While others had Singapore passports, my travel document consisted of a pink book that was known as a Certificate of Identity. In it, the CI stipulated that I was stateless and it was not until 1986 where I received my citizenship. I remembered how proud I was when I took the oath of allegiance to accept my citizenship. I remembered how proud I was again when I took my second oath of allegiance the day I was enlisted into the National Service. Although, I am no longer physically in Singapore, I remained proud to be a Singaporean. It is with pride that I carry my Singapore passport when I travel around the world. I am always proud and eager to tell my foreign friends that I am Singaporean.

National Day is a day for me to look back and see how well we have done as a country. However, I am starting to dislike what I see before me. I have come to realise that as a Singaporean, I am constantly living in fear. The fear of prosecution for saying the supposedly wrong things, thinking the supposedly wrong things and doing the supposedly wrong things. What irks me is that rather than spending the time to present a convincing argument to educate the person, one is instead faced with the threat of prosecution, penalty and punishment for the slightest deviation. Is this the best we could do for our people, our country? I am sad. I am disappointed. I am disillusioned.

I feel for Singapore because I care and love this country.

My name is Jay and I am Singaporean. So say we all.

hey, don't give up on the country yet!
it is abit worrying though, that they think the draconian behaviour of yesteryear is still being used nowadays.

I have the distinct possibility of not having Singaporean citizen children - and I dread that (for the mo). I'm not sure how the European Union passport will be very beneficial. we shall see.

I don't think Singaporean is not passionate enuff. In fact most Singaporean is very very passionate. But why there is a bo chap attitube in most Singaporean.

That is becos after we comment, make suggestion, sometimes, there is no goot return. What make it worst, is the reverse happen!

Jay, I can understand how you feel, cos I feel the same too!

sunflower: This bor chup attitude is that of the preceding generation where "everything also leave it to the gahmen to settle for us".

The current generation is one that is starting to wake up and notice the Gahmen nonsense.

We may be a bit too late to do something about it this election, but bear in mind, the next is merely 5 years away. We will be around to do something about it if the Gahmen don't.

Dicta: Thank you. As many people as there are who agree with me, there are just as many who disagree. We'll just have to respect that and the bladdy gahmen ought to learn one thing or two from us, rather than just bulldozing its way through.

Voice Blog - Coming Back From Club Momo

Ok, so we weren't exactly drunk but we did have a couple of drinks and went to do an audio blog totally unprepared. For the lack of organisation, we certainly made up with spontaneous silliness.

Also, due to the fact that I was armed with only a Nokia Phone's crappy "Sound Recorder", we were only allowed to record up to 1 minute with each clip. As such, there may be some stuff lost in between takes. Still like the old saying goes, no fish, prawn also goot.

If anyone out there is able to join the 6 MP3 files into 1, please do it and send it to me. I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

In the mean time, I would recommend downloading all 6 clips ahead and play them back to back in quick succession in order to maintain the flow of the conversation i.e. create a new playlist lining up the clip in their respective sequential order.

Afternote: Managed to find the software to join all the audio clips together. Woo hoo!

Thought for the day..... Who's Joey?

Enjoy.

Voice Blog - Talking About Potato

Another Jay-Cast in Ch1na on the Eve of Christmas' Eve. All on account of my deep friendship with Pam that I had to miss Christmas back in Singapore again. Still, I think it was worth the little sacrifice just to be able to be at the wedding reception in person. Instead, I wish to offer my apologies for not being to spend more time with you while we were both in Singapore. A big regret for me for not allocating enough time to be in Singapore. I hope you would be kind and understanding to forgive me for that.

Anyway, long audio blog this time with lotsa stuff, including a very lame but cute joke told to me by Daphne from Wala Wala circa 1995.

Enjoy.

Voice Blog - Surgery Day

So here I am back from the hospital and I thought what better time to do an audio blog when I am talking funny and drooling at the same time. Besides, it is time to do one for the month of November, anyway.

Also, check out the photo of the cyst. Pretty gross hor? It may look small but it is considered huge relatively since this bladdy thing was embedded in your lip. Now go use your fingers and feel your lip and tell me if you can find room to fit that bladdy thing in.

Enjoy.
