Faith Goes For Haircut

Decided to take Faith out to Forum The Shopping Mall to get her haircut. Since she was born, she was always in a a bob as in the early stages, she doesn't like washing of her hair due to the phobia of the shampoo getting into her eyes.

However, as she grew older and the hiao-ness kicked in, she started growing her locks this year to have long hair past the shoulders.

Well, Singapore being a hot and humid place, proved too much for her to handle and she relented and wanted to go back to the bob which is cooler and doesn't get in her face all the time.

So, under the edict of the wife, I was to bring her to TheLittleRedDot (#02-35), a hair salon specially catered to kids. Initially, I was apprehensive about spending $18 for a kid's hair cut but while it was a tad pricey, I did notice that these guys are really good with kids. Somehow, they are able to get the kids obediently sit relatively still for them to do their job. Almost magical as far as I was concerned as I recalled myself a bawling kid on the propped up barber chair of the Malay barbers. Tears and mucus were to mix with hair to form a disgusting and uncomfortable gooey paste on my face whenever I got my dreaded haircut.

So twenty minutes later and $18 poorer, I brought her to Kidz Station (#02-37) to play for a while. Kidz Station is essentially a play pen for kids to run around with the little plastic castles and plastic ball pools.
However, before we were heading in, we got stopped by the lady staff who thought Faith as a little too old to be allowed into the playpen. Apparently, they have a 1.20m height limit and Faith was asked to stand against the height measuring chart.

Well, what do you know, she was exactly 1.20m and the lady staff was shocked to learn that Faith is not yet old enough to be in Primary 1.

It looks like that would probably be Faith's last visit to the Kidz Station.

Oh well, looks like Gabriel will have to be on his own in there from now on.

Wow, 120 cm already. Faith is gonna be the tallest girl at her junior college in a few years' time. Who knows she may earn a volleyball scholarship to attend an Ivy League school in the U.S.
