Taking Faith To School

You won't believe if I tell you that the above shot was taken right in heart of Singapore. Yes. A jungle in the middle of the concrete jungle.

Try to make a guess where this is, before scrolling down.

This was taken at the canal under the Newton Flyer over.

Remember my previous post about "Slowing Down Your Pace"? I would have missed this place had I been caught up with bustle of city life. It was a magical place. The serenity was simple amazing. Just a few seconds ago, I was walking out of Newton MRT station to volumes of cars zooming past non-stop. next moment before you know it, all is quiet except the "dok-dok" sounds of car tyres running over fly-over bridge section gap above us.

Other than that? Nothing. Not a sound. Really unreal.

So anyway, I have been using my free time these few days to take/fetch Faith to/from school. Given that I haven't a car this time round, we took public transportation and traveled on foot.

The time spent may be longer than via car, I felt that it was a very refreshing and enjoyable experience. I have more time to talk to Faith and catch up on the years that I have been missing. Sitting at the back of the bus and in the cabin of the train frees up my time at the steering wheel.

Last stretch of the road was on foot as she too has the chance to get to know me better as we walked hand in hand on the pavements and crossing streets.

This picture was taken between the traffic lights under the fly-over outside Newton MRT station.

Well, I am enjoying this during this time as much as I can before new events in our lives take that away.

AhTiong73: Well, public transportation is not perfect though. It is a real bitch to get home after midnight.

atrix: Welcome to the blog. Glad to have you hear. What amazed me was all the lush greenery was hidden under a flyover where thousands of cars zoomed over it everyday and yet not many people know about this little sanctuary.
