Xiao Ren Wu De Xin Sheng (Voices From The Heart)

.
The party's over.
The end is near.
Don't look for me.
I'm no longer here.

- Corporate Animals (1995)
.
My thanks to Trina who showed me where to find the song playing in the background of the "ROCK AC" clip. Apparently, it's the 2007 National Day Parade song "Will You" sung by Janani Sridhar, Asha Edmund, Emma Yong, Lily Ann Rahmat, Jai Wahab, Shabir Mohammed, Sebastian Tan and Gani Karim.

Unfamiliar names except Emma Yong who is active in the local Theatre scene (Pam: Ring a bell there? Jubilee Hall?) and Gani Karim who was my ACJC schoolmate, both of whom starred in the 1995 local musical Corporate Animals together with other notable names like Hossan Leong and Deborah Png.

Anyway, the song is available on the NDP website at http://www.ndp.org.sg/multimedia/audio/index.html.
As I was browsing through the other songs, I spotted 小人物的心声 which was the 插曲 of the 1985 TV show 咖啡乌. Anybody remember the character 阿才?

Ahh the memories...

The words of the song are very simple but the meaning strikes very deep. Like I said, in the comments of my ROCK AC entry, this song will be my theme song if I ever get into Singapore politics. Well, the big keyword here is "IF".

Will continue on this tomorrow.

Enjoy.

Eric Moo (Wu Qi Xien) and I were classmates in JJC. Although his grades were unimpressive, his talent in music was undeniable. He sang back up vocal for some Taiwanese pop stars before he got his break. I think he is by far the most famous JJC alum. Success in life is not measured by how many A's you score on the GCE A Level Exam, seriously.

This is one of the rare cheena songs that I like to sing. I heart the other one by Eric Moo, think its one of the cha qu from kopi-o.

Pam: Time to air dirty laundry? Hur hur hur......

ruok: I thought this was the 插曲? The 主题曲 is Kopi O? "Kopi O, Kopi O, 喝一杯浓浓的 Kopi O ....."

Then again, it was so long ago and I could've gotten the two mixed up or was there a third song?
