Sian XMM Episode VII

While I was done with blogging abour durians, the topic during private chats was still very much alive. XMM Series has the honour to present Episode VII and I must say, it is all thanks to OLLie who got us talking about ripping durians apart with bare hands.

As usual, identity of XMM Episode VII shall be changed to protect her identity unless of course, the person-in-question decides to show herself.

Anyway, just a bit of background information leading up to the extract below:

The dialogue started off about opening durians with my weapon of choice, being the ch1nese cleaver and hers, being that of a screwdriver. From there we move on to the various tools and wandered to the Allen Key (to open a durian?).

Enjoy.

Session Start (PikaChio): Tue Sep 05 13:05:43 2006

[13:51] PikaChio: have you read The Alchemist yet?

[13:51] JayWalk: nope.
[13:51] JayWalk: starting with Veronika (Decides To Die) first.

[13:52] PikaChio: it's a good read. makes you ponder over life, mull over it, long after you've finished reading
[13:52] PikaChio: i could pass you the book

[13:52] JayWalk: ok.
[13:52] JayWalk: why not?

[13:53] PikaChio: and in return you're going to demonstrate the moronic way of opening liu lian with an allen key

[13:54] JayWalk: i shall buy the book liao. :(

[13:55] PikaChio: hahahah

[13:57] PikaChio: that's a screwdriver!

[13:57] JayWalk: allen key lah.

[13:57] PikaChio: i can't argue technical parts with a furniture specialist

[13:57] JayWalk: if the tip is a cross, it's a philips screwdriver.
[13:58] JayWalk: if it is a flat edge, that's a flathead screwdriver,
[13:58] JayWalk: it the tip is stub hexagonal, it's an alley key

[13:58] PikaChio: do you see a lightbulb flashing at the top of my head?

[13:58] JayWalk: if the tip is sharpy pointed, you know what you call that?

[13:59] PikaChio: ice pick?

[13:59] JayWalk: pick. correct not necessarily for ice though.

[13:59] PikaChio: :(

[13:59] JayWalk: if the tip is a handle?

[14:00] PikaChio: umm ... a baton?

[14:00] JayWalk: nope.
[14:00] JayWalk: it's just you holding the wrong end.
[14:00] JayWalk: :P

[14:00] PikaChio: why do i feel a sudden urge to use it
[14:00] PikaChio: right about now?

Gary: Aiyah, I was referring to the long straight allen key lah. Exactly the same as a normal screwdriver except that it's tip is hexagonal.

Don't keep thinking it's the L-shaped or S-shaped allen key that you get from Ikea stuff lah.

erm.. opening a durian with a cleaver, screwdriver, allen-key, for us, is satisfying when we use strength to pull open the core of the durian.. but power drill, doesn't seem a kick to me.. the appetite will be gone..
