Kopi O Gao

It was the first morning since my return back to Singapore and I religiously trooped down to the kopitiam downstairs for my breakfast.

And what's a Singaporean breakfast without the aromatic cup of Java?

So there I was at the counter placing my order to the cashier auntie:

JayWalk: Kopi O Gao.
Translate: Coffee Black Thick

Cashier Auntie (yelling to the Kopi Auntie behind her): Orh Yew Kar Chwuay!!
Translate: Black oil more!!

Kopi Auntie (blur): ...?

JayWalk (also blur): ...?

Kopi Auntie (yelled back) : Simi orh yew kar chwuay?
Translate: What black oil more?

Cashier Auntie: AIYOH!!! ORH YEW KAR CHWUAY, GOON CHWEE KAR JIO LOR!!!!
Translate: *flustered* Black oil more, boiling water less lor!!!!

Kopi Auntie ("like that also can?" look on her face): -_____________-"

It's great to be home.
